Collier team lovin’ the mud for Headway in the Nuclear Rush

May 30, 2018 | Community, News

Six members of the Collier & Catchpole Colchester team took part in the 7km Nuclear Race obstacle challenge held on Sunday 20th May in Brentwood. They were Andy McMahon, Rebecca Mitchell, Steve Clayton, Tom Willis, Tony Atlee and his daughter Grace Atlee.

The trademark feature for Nuclear Races, apart from the challenging obstacles, is the mud ….. see the state of the team in the picture attached.

Nuclear Races challenge all levels of fitness ability & ages, testing courage, determination, teamwork & physical strength. Based on permanent farmland with mud, woods, rivers, lakes & fields Nuclear pushes participant’s limits over a fun combination of big & small obstacles packed on award winning courses which are mixed up at every event.
The Collier & Catchpole team all completed the course and over the finishing line in just over 3 hours and 38 minutes.

The inspiration behind the challenge was raising money for Headway Essex and it is not too late to support the team by donating via the Collier page on the Virgin Money Giving website.
